Hoover

The Hoover Company is a household appliance manufacturer based in Ohio, United States. It also gained a significant presence in the United Kingdom, where it controlled the electric vacuum cleaner sector for much of the twentieth century, to the point where the Hoover brand became synonymous with vacuum cleaners and vacuuming in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Hoover North America was originally a part of Maytag, but was sold for $107 million in 2006 to Hong Kong multinational manufacturing company Techtronic Industries by Maytag's new owners, Whirlpool Corporation. In 1993, Hoover International split from Hoover North America, and Candy bought it in 1995, which was then bought by Haier in 2019.
